Mr. K. Ramalingam, Head (AVP) - Sales & Marketing of Drive Business Division of Hitachi Hi-Rel Power Electronics Pvt. Ltd. addressed CII’s 8th Edition of MainTech 2018 which was scheduled on Friday, 25th May 2018 at Vadodara, Gujarat. The event was organized by CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) Western Region - Vadodara Zonal Office, Forum for Maintenance Technology & Practices. The event was aimed to share the latest developments in the field of Motors, Drives, Transformers & Switch Gears.
“Latest development in Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)” subject as a focal point, Mr. K. Ramalingam briefed about Hitachi’s HIVECTOL – HVI Model Medium Voltage VFD through the detailed presentation.
He also shared that Hitachi’s Medium Voltage VFDs are adopted with patented technology of “transformer pre-charge” and patented “cyclic switching of power cell”. He enlightened that always the power flow from input to motor happens through two major blocks, the first one is input transformer and the second one is power cell. Only Hitachi added value in the complete power flow from input to output of Medium Voltage VFD by these patens which ensure long terms rugged performance of Medium Voltage VFD with excellent power walk – in to the MV VFD by reducing the start up transformer inrush current by 90 % compare to conventional method of input transformer powering. He also shared the brief on Low Voltage VFDs of Hitachi during the meet.
