Specialized Drives Solutions
Beyond standard VFDs, Hitachi Hi-Rel offers highly innovative and specialized solutions engineered to enhance the reliability and performance of motor loads, particularly during power disturbances. These unique systems are designed to provide continuous operation and safeguard against critical process interruptions.
iDip is an innovative solution that allows any make of DFE based 415V VFDs to ride through short-term input power dips, preventing costly motor RPM loss and process interruptions.
- Functionality: iDip supports VFD operation even when the input three-phase voltage reduces by up to 50% or if one phase drops to zero while the other two remain healthy, for durations up to 2 seconds. During such power dips, iDip actively supports the inverter in maintaining DC bus voltage and motor RPM, ensuring no change in the speed of the running motor.
- Key Features:
- Universal VFD Compatibility: Can be connected to the DC BUS of any make of DFE-based 415V VFD.
- Maintains DC Bus Voltage: Actively supports the VFD by maintaining constant DC bus voltage during power dips.
- Offline Operation: Operates as an offline system, engaging only during input voltage power dips, ensuring it does not increase the overall system's power consumption.
- System Isolation: Designed such that a fault in the iDip ride-through system will not affect the main running VFD system.
- Easy Maintenance & Removal: Can be easily removed for maintenance or troubleshooting without affecting the main running system.
- No Efficiency Impact: Does not affect the efficiency of the existing VFD system.
- Flexible Construction: Available in both Modular or Panel construction to suit diverse installation needs.
- Self-Protecting Design: Incorporates self-protecting devices to prevent any circulating currents between iDip and the main VFD system.
- Independent Self-Protection: Self-protected independently against any short circuit or fault within its own system.
- Key Benefits:
- Prevents Costly Interruptions: Eliminates unexpected shutdowns and costly motor RPM loss during short-term power dips.
- Enhances System Reliability: Maintains continuous VFD and motor operation, significantly improving overall system reliability during transient power issues.
- Increases Productivity: By preventing process interruptions, it contributes directly to higher operational uptime and productivity.
- Protects VFDs & Motors: Safeguards sensitive equipment from the stresses of power fluctuations.
- Key Applications: These specialized solutions are crucial for industries with highly sensitive processes where continuous motor operation is paramount, such as in certain segments of Power, Steel & Metal, Oil & Gas, and other process industries./li>
